My photography comes from a storytelling perspective. Much like my artwork I'm not great at abstract, but I strive to capture something of the human spirit in my shots. I supposed you could call that abstract, but it is my reality. I don't fancy myself a professional photographer. Just an amateur whose desire to supplement my professional writing with appropriate visual backup has netted an amazing number of professional photographic opportunities. The chance to step into someone else's reality for a few short hours is a thrill and an honor and always fascinating. There is a story in every face, every expression captured in that fleeting moment when the shutter opens.
There aren't too many photos of me around. I'm always behind the lense. My sister Lynette snapped this one when we were in New Hampshire this summer. The camera bug must be genetic.
